2009 Les Garrigues Grenache Blanc

High quality 'Grande Reserve' wines aren't expected to be this inexpensive but the '09 Les Garrigues Grenache Blanc from the south of France is a welcome anomaly for all enthusiasts of classic European white wine. The 'tongue on stone' mineral-rich taste of this dry white (yes, this is the green-skinned member of the Grenache family!) is augmented by deep citrus and asian pear aromas and flavors. Such a refreshing alternative to Chardonnay!
